importing computer hardware from china, taiwan

Hi everyone,

I've been getting good prices for used computer hardware from taiwan and china and was wondering if anyone has any experience in importing such items from asia and what challenges they faced and what type of things i have to be wary of.

please share if you know of any reputable suppliers..

you'd need to register as an importer, if your buying 2nd hand goods you need a special permit for that, check sars.co.za

Thanks for the info, but its not like I am buying a lot of things, like for resale or anything, I am looking to buy just a couple of items. I will check out SARS all the same.

If its not business related, you can import as much as you wish (new, not sure abou t2nd hand stuff) , no need for any import code/permits. You just need to worry about the freight,duties and vat. Its not worth the hassle imo ...
