I know this has been discussed before, but I just wanted to get the latest info...

I want to buy 5 different items off eBay. Unfortunately from 5 different suppliers, so it would probably be 5 different parcels. Value of each item/parcel is under R100 (it is iPad covers and bluetooth earphones)

Would I be able to receive all packages? Or does the rule for maximum of three imports per calendar year (without importer code) apply here?

My physical address would be given up as delivery address. If the package doesn't get delivered to this address, I understand it will go to the post office. How do I know which post office it gets delivered to? And how would I know once it is there?

Thank you in advance for any replies.

You are correct SARS limits you to 3 parcels per year without an importers code ,luckily they don't enforce it with the parcels coming through the post office. You will be able to get them all.

The parcel will be delivered to the post office ,you will get a notification in the mail to go and fetch it . The notification will tell you at which post office the parcel is.

Please note parcel's coming through post office takes months to arrive here ,might even get lost.

Why don't you use a parcel forwarding company? If all the items are from one country, have it shipped to the forwarding company who should be able to consolidate everything into one parcel and ship it to you.

^ In theory a good idea, but the cheapest rates I could find exceeded R800, which is more than double the value of all the items together, so it sorts of defeats the purpose then.

Why don't you use Aramex Global Shopper. I bought items off Ebay and my items takes about 7-10 days max to arrive with tracking provided on their website. Anything under 1kg is about R175. Anything under R500 and there is no import or tax paid
