Having gotten nowhere on the phone with a Telkom Mobile customer care assistant, I requested to speak to a manager. This was not possible at the time and I was then promised a call-back on approximately 5 occasions via e-mail. That was about 2.5 weeks ago and it never materialised. I have subsequently sough legal action and have been trying to issue a letter of demand to Telkom Mobile. I get no response when I try contact them through the email address used previously as well as no response when I complete a "help" form on their website.

Is there any representative on this forum?

Well that's hilarious, I have email support months ago, Telkom phoned me back the same day and then ignored me after they found out my problem is my connections that get throttle or shaped to pieces, cause you see "Telkom does not throttle your line Sir"

I have re-sended the email last week and again zero response from Telkom, today a sales consultant phones me up and wants to upgrade my contract to LTE because "Sir you will get faster speed".

Holy crap Telkom you dip * you're not even providing me with full internet speeds atm how the heck will LTE make a difference, I'm actually happy with the speeds I had the very 1st month I started a new contract, before you started implementing the shaping and throttling of the connections.

So Telkom Mobile can you actually fix my problem and, in fact are you allow to fix my problem is even the bigger question

If you reckon you can I have 5 contracts with Telkom mobile and they all been shaped to pieces atm, I'm in the process of laying complains with ICASA so if you do decide to help me please note everything will be recorded.

Telkom Mobiles products are really great, but the service level is terrible. On Monday a friend of mine was looking to get a new phone on contract. We went to all 4 providers in Greenacres, and she decided on the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime on TMs 50 minute deal.

When we asked for it at the new TM store, we were told that they were still waiting for stock. I asked if there was stock at other branches, and was told that no one at the branch could tell me, as they are a franchise store and others are direct stores (or the opposite).

When I complained, a supervisor called the Walmer branch, after about 10 minutes, he told me that no one was picking up. I asked if he check through their computer system, and he said no. I asked when the Greenacres branch would get stock, and he was unable to tell me.

I decided to drive to Walmer and see if they had the phone. The branch was even worse, with no queening system, only 1 consultant, and they were unable to take card payments. When we did get helped, we were told that the phone would be in stock by Thursday (today). My friend filled in all the paper work, and left copies of the needed documents.

Yesterday, she tried to call the branch to see if there were any dealys with the phone. No one picked up throughout the day. She then sent an email, which has still not been replied to. Today, she has called the branch at least 5 times, and sent another email, and still no response.

Telkom Mobile, I love your pricing, but your service is pathetic.

Yip, coz the stores are meant to be Walk in stores.

She wasn't trying to conclude the contract over the phone. She only wanted to know if it had been recieved, as was promised. A day later, and they still don't pick up or respond to emails.

Telkom ignores pleas for help

On 14th November 2016, after multiple attempts to get my home line fixed (including one where the technician left the job half-completed and then closed my ticket), I finally got Telkom to complete the repair. That was the good news. The bad news was that, in doing so, he put his foot through my living room ceiling and left a hole! He promised that a manager would call me. Didn't happen. I then called 10210, but they wouldn't accept my request for help because the ticket had been closed again!!! They gave me an email address ([email protected]), to which I reported my problem. You guessed it - no reply. Is there any number that I can call, or any other contact information, so that I can speak with a competent human being who will help?

If you have the free time: take pics and go to Telkom Head Office maybe. And if no luck take the CEO to the small claims court.

telkom couldnt care less

So i logged a call on the 13-10-16 15:47 then followed it up a week later when telkom did not get back to me, it was then escalated and i waited for feed back. another week went by and then i called back to find out what is going on and then was told that the manager would get back to me this keeps happening on a weekly basis that the manager is going to get back to me and well today is the 05-12-2016 12:48 and im still waiting for something to happen, its nearly two months now and well im really annoyed but this service.

can someone help me please my internet line is slow and i was told that a tech would come out on site to see if its an issue on there side that they might need to increase the speed or what ever but nothing has been done and telkom dont really seem to care much.

I'm looking for a complaint escalation path, complete with email addresses and names of responsible persons. I need this firstly for Telkom Mobile and secondly for Telkom Fixed Line. (I'm not interested in call centre numbers as the operators are friendly but powerless. As I am typing here I am already waiting 49min to speak to a call centre supervisor!)
At this moment I have a mobile phone cut off purely due to Telkom employee incompetence (paid up service) and I cannot get my landline service adjusted to a new package. (Lady in Telkom shop got stuck due to system errors and my email to telkom was not even answered.) Hoping somebody can help.

I am also looking for a e-mail address because I don't do call centre complaints : total waste of time intended to make you feel better or convince you that the problem is not their fault.

Same here.

Having no end of trouble getting Telkom Mobile to remove CLI (at R8.50 per month) from my data-only contract (sim in router).

Good day, I am contacting you out of desperation, with no other options left. How do I share a an issue with you for publication or investigation?

We tried for nearly 3 months to cancel our non-contract billed ADSL service with Telkom, also to be sent around in circles for 3 months, eventually we were exhausted, and to be able to get a good deal on our ADSL, and stop the frustrating pains of cancelling, we signed a 24 month contract BIG MISTAKE, as look where we are now!

My partner(in copy & the Telkom account holder) and I have moved house on the 21st January, 2019. We requested our line be moved to our new residence, which was carried out very quickly and efficiently by Telkom/Openserve. We have a 24 month ADSL contract with Telkom, 3 weeks after the line move, and it was working fine for those 3 weeks. Telkom went ahead and deactivated the service, from some internal miscommunication/error. WE have been without service for 12 days today, and we have called every single day since the fault started On Thursday the 7th February.

There is absolutely no one that can help use reactivate the service. It takes 30 minutes each time we call from our mobiles ,before we get hold of a human being, who either can’t/won’t help. They divert us from pillar to post, and just run into dead ends. We have been told on 3 separate days the systems are down, and they would get back to us, which they have not. We then call again, and get into the same loop. It has been escalated, and escalated. No resolution. They will not give us to a senior person, who can assist, they are always unavailable, but they will speak to them when they are, nothing happens.

We call again, we complain to Carte Blanche, we complain on hellopeter, I have complained on my broadband forum, nothing happens…We finally got a call back from Luwayne George last thursday, from open serve, who confirmed that they have still got us connected to an exchange in a suburb we have not lived for 4 years, and we are still listed as living in an address we moved out of in January this year. He also confirmed that he has not seen such a mess, and the technicians never closed off the order correctly, and he promised to take it to his ops manager…NOTHING HAS HAPPENED.

Out of desperation I called on a favor through our global corporate company account manager at Telkom, who also promised to assist last week Wednesday, he has not assisted, or provided any updates, other than he has been busy, and will look into again(Yesterday). Today, we are still offline, and no feedback. I have mailed him every day since last Wednesday. I have threatened legal action against Telkom for breach of contract, but that will just cost me more money, and frustration.

I have complained on Telkom’s facebook page, no response, they haven’t even read the messages. Their online fault logging system never works, the mobile phone app does not work. We are out of options, and getting billed for the full service, that we are not receiving. This is just another example of terrible service delivery has become in South Africa.

They recently completed installation of fiber in our area, and had massive tents, and stands to get people to upgrade, I wanted to go and stand there and send people away, and warn them of how shocking Telkom’s service is. We want to upgrade to fiber, as it costs exactly the same as our ADSL, but we cannot convert, until we have activated the ASDSL service which is clearly impossible to do. Vicious circle… In my opinion this is a major breach of contract, as we are tied to a contract, which we will never be able to get out of, and no service delivery for our subscriptions.

We went to the local Telkom outlet at the mall, and tried to get the line activated, we were sent on the wild goose chase of calling 10213 to get the line reactivated, which is what we have been trying for days, literally everyday, sometimes twice a day. Our mobile airtime is depleted, our mobile data is costing money, as we have to hotspot our devices to have internet to work from home, study, stream TV etc. The outlets do not assist with faults, they only do ACTIVATIONS, which we need to have reactivated, and we are hitting dead ends at every inch of this vicious circle.

I hope you are able to provide some guidance or assistance in anyway. We have never had such a poor experience with any service provider, and we have had many poor experiences. But this is the worst, as we have absolutely no idea how to sort this out.

Tanielle has personally called them each time as the account holder.
