The staff member whose hand had reached deepest into the council's overtime pocket, was paid R54 373 in April. Beeld determined that he was a traffic police officer, a security officer or a fire fighter.

According to the overtime statements that Beeld examined, he worked 491 hours of overtime in April.

720 ours in a month of 30 days
45 hours a week, just normal working hours. (9 hours a day)
So if he does an extra 9 hours a day; aka 18 hour shift = 180 hours over time.
Now pls tell me how the fk do you get to almost 500 hours ?

Even if he worked 18 hours a day for 7 days a week = 504 hours total thus 1/2 of that would be over time = 252 hours + a little extra for he's off days. Lets say another 50 hours. Now that is 302 hours. With only 6 hours break for a whole month
