Hi peeps,

I got Imtoo DVD ripper 6 to rip DVD to HD AVI content.I used HD dvi and didn't work.Used HD DivX and Xvid and the latter two said that upon inserting flash drive that HD content not supported altough the DVD player has got HDMI (and is setup for 1080i cause TV only has 720p,720i,1080i support.) Am I trying to rip it to high wrt 1920x1080 or must I rip it to 720p?

Just use handbrake.

So if TV has 720p,720i and 1080i and DVD player has 720p,720i,1080p and 1080i,which will be the best setting to write it for AVI output wrt best HD quality?

Now I'm using AVS video coverter 7.1 and have a DVD that I converted to HD AVI but still show "flaky" on 23" screen.I'm I ripping it wrong or am I using the wrong format (AVI,MPEG,MKV?)Anyone using this software or must I switch over to Handbrake?

Handbrake rips to MP4 or MKV

An MKV file is a Matroska file. Matroska is an open source container format. It is an alternative to the popular AVI and MP4 formats. Inside the MKV can be many types of video streams such as one encoded with XviD or H.264, and many types (often multiple) audio streams like AC3 or MP3. MKV has become one of the most used container formats for high definition video content online.

Handbrake ripping is just allot better than any of the other rippers I found out there. and a lot of players support it natively ie: my Samsung TV plays it from the USB stick no hassles.

Right downloaded Handbrake.Try to set resolutuion to 1920x1080 for ripping but to no avail. It gives me a weird resolution output. So I put AVS back on and ripped it in MKV format.Still doesn't show the picture clear and crisp.Still has that "choppy/flakyness" on screen.Am I doing something wrong?Oh and used Windows Media player Classic to play MKV file.Is it the right player to use?
