Would you have it installed into your car ?

Lets say at about R 10k - R15k. Complete with touch screen and what not ?
Maybe even cheaper versions.

So would you ?

Most cars in Korea that don't have the factory installed in-dash type, have this type stuck to their windscreens.
They have excellent navigation programs, plus web connectivity, Digital TV, MP3, Photo viewing, games, karaoke, automatic parking cam, ............

About US$230
I wouldn't mind one of these, but they don't support foreign language and maps.

The top of the range.

Thing is, I have found a local supplier for imported goods specifically for in-car PC's.

I'm thinking of giving it a shot, but only if there is interrest in such a venture. No use doing one for my car as a demonstration vehicle but there is no interrest :(

Well I am actually in the market looking for something to fit into my Lexus IS250... since I dont have the IS250 SE model I miss out on the GPS / touch screen / reverse camera / PDC setup.

The biggest problem I am facing is finding something that would integrate and look neat in the dashboard area... I dont want to slap something on the windscreen since it looks tacky and ofc obstructs viewing visibility outside while driving. The nicest one I have found was the Eclipse system, http://www.eclipse-web.com/eu/en/index.html

I've been wanting to do a complete system in my S2000 - but can not find a single company in SA willing to do the work (requires dash cutting).

Space is already an issue, so wanted to put the PC in the bucket wheel space, and LCD in the dash... nice and neat.

That was one of the problems with mine, just remembered, I needed a sun visible touch screen - cause of the drop top :p

You get screens specific for drop tops. But they are CRAP EXPENSIVE !

Either that or you can put the screen a bit back into the console/Dash so the housing provides shade for the screen. I read about it somewhere.

lets get to the point Pitbull wants to raid will driving ;) :D

But the reason behind this is the following.

It looks cool, you can store anything you sourced for free on it. Some motherboards have 7.1 built in these days ;) Add GPS receivers, Bluetooth, Any USB devices including HSDPA USB internet connectivity and and and.

How about doing that big download you need, do it from a WiFi hotspot while your car is parked at the shopping mall and you do shopping :p

The possibilites are endless.

I've got an email some guy send me who does them locally - I looked into it for my G4 GTI in 2004ish .I'll post the information if I can find it.
