My sister recently downloaded a keygenerater that she claimed was "safe" .. surprisingly the next morning I open my computer and realize my windows folder is halved in size, so basically I had to format my pc but lost the driver cd , had to manually install and download part by part, does anyone know of audio controller software ? I tried googling around a bit but I keep going in circles all the time its the last part I need to install,

yeah old one used to be realtek or something similar, I am not familiar with sound car names etc , when I try to add hardware it basically tells me my audio controller is not installed yet, so I guess that is where I lack drivers

What motherboard do you have? How many channels is the sound output? If its a standard 2 Channel stereo output then i'm guessing you need Realtek AC'97 drivers.
Get it here.

you can't just install any sound driver,... you need the exact one. You need to find out which motherboard you have or add-in card and download the exact driver. Anything else will give you BSOD.

If your pc got infected by a simple keygen...

You definitely need yourself a decent anti virus software ;)

no no the anti viruz gave her a warning , she chose to ignore it instead of clean it, I need to get my pc a simple password that she wont guess, in 4 years time I have never downloaded a file with a viruz that killed my pc, or did any harm, the first time she does it I am forced to format.
