Oh, and another thing. This "Think Bike" campaign is utterly stupid and selfish.
Why should we be blackmailed into giving attention to just one user group of the roads?
If you are driving properly and behaving yourself on the roads then there is no need for anyone to give you special consideration.
Car drivers don't have to think bike. Bikers have to think like they are normal road users, not fairy princesses on their way to the grand ball.
Don't do stuff that normal road users wouldn't do, and then there is no need to be looked after and coddled like you are God's damn gift to the planet.

Hater that's all you are.

Bikers need special attention because car drivers simply don't see us - I kid you not.

I rode with the assumption that car drivers couldn't see me, and I still had enough near misses to eventually just pack it in.

It's an initiative driven by the biking community to address a problem bikers are facing. If you can give me ONE example where a bike rider was injured or killed by a car and the driver didn't say: "But I didn't see him" then I will agree with you.

Each and every bike-car accident where the car is at fault the first response is: "I didn't see him"

By all mean apply it to your drive style and use it for cyclists, pedestrians, other cars whatever. Just apply it.
 
I think Mike just hit the nail on the head.

the biggest problem with South Africa is that one word

Entitlement.

Education
road rage
corruption
racism

the problem in all of that is Entitlement. even the #feesmustfall thing was based on entitlement.
that should be the thing the Government should focus on abolishing.

The only thing clear is that you have gotten off your high horse and are now looking at the topic more rationally.
So why now change gears and start insulting people who interpret what you say differently from your intention?

We all write things thinking that what we write is conveying the message we intend to convey. That does not stop others from interpreting it differently.

That is the essence of a debate. A constructive debate is one where everyone stays civil.

I am very glad you understand how a debate works....
but I still want to know, in the post you quoted, where do I mention breaking the law?
you come out guns blazing, yet you have no freaking clue what is going on.

having a debate with you is like having a debate with a creationist, Proof, fact, those things do not matter, opinion, that is all that matters...


now again. go back, find that post you quoted, quote it again, and this time highlight what I said that was illegal.
or come back and apologize for flying off the handle.
