Over the past 2 weeks or so I have had such inconsistant performance and speed from my 4Mbps Telkom ADSL line. I have the Telkom-supplied D-Link DSL-2750U router installed.
Ookla Speedtest can vary from 2.7Mbps downstream to less that 0.1Mbps with no activity on the network. I make sure to disconnect everyone except my own PC from the network.
ADSL stats from the router show the following:
Mode: ADSL_2plus
Type: ATM
Status: Up
Downstream Upstream
Line Coding(Trellis): On On
SNR Margin (dB): 155 205
Attenuation (dB): 365 180
Output Power (dBm): 0 -4
Attainable Rate (Kbps): 12584 1076
Rate (Kbps): 4096 507
D (interleaver depth): 1 1
Delay (msec): 0.25 0.24
HEC Errors: 0 10
OCD Errors: 0 0
LCD Errors: 0 0
Total ES: 24 0
Most of this is double-dutch to me, but common sense tells me that a) Attenuation is high and b) Outpuit power is not right. Ookla Speed test reported 2.7Mbps download and 0.36Mbps upload speeds under these modem stats.
Do I have a dickey modem/router here or is there a problem elsewhere?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
