Dark room in Adventure. Grues abound.
So my wife got pulled off and they fined her because of a expired licence disc.

However, the officer wrote her ID number down incorrectly, as well as our residential address.

What do we do in this case?

Go to the designated office and have it cancelled. Speak to the prosecutor, it is invalid and they could also never pursue for non payment since the details are wrong. As far as I know a fine must be free from any errors and or omissions.

So he also got the vehicle make, reg number, licence plate number wrong? ;) Something tells me they can identify you correctly regardless

If its that easy, then the best thing to do next time you get pulled over for an offence, is to say sorry I don't have my licence with me, and then just give them the wrong ID number as they won't be able to prosecute you for the first offence, or the no licence offence? Doesn't sound right

Offence + no license = big fine/jail

Where do I find out about which office is the designated one?

The officer had my wife's licence in his hand. He had it physically. Don't know how he got her ID number wrong.

No I understand your case. All I'm saying is I find it hard to believe that another offender can simply pretend like he can't find his licence and then verbally provide the officer with the wrong ID number

It will probably added to Enatis anyway via the registration number so ignoring it won't help. But it won't be on her name for what it's worth :D

Best go dispute it, but is it really worth it? How much was it? Thinking of wasting a time at the municipal court... bleh I would just pay the R 1k and get it over with.

Have you ever heard of mere mortal humans making mistakes? Is the license disc expired? If so, pay the fine. Live on a higher moral ground?

Yep, Pretoria.

Ah, good old Visagie street...

They have a court and all there at the Main offices in Visagie street. So probably your best bet to just go there straight.
