So I decided to have a look at my modem. It has been a while since I last checked.

and I see the following:

I am in Edenvale, so I was wondering if the exchanges are getting upgrades again, but this looks like a weird sync rate. I have a 10meg uncapped account. Anyone else getting similar rates.

Maybe some ISPS can offer 12meg accounts :)

Had the same thing. Before my upgrade my 10meg line was syncing at 14mbps and now my 40meg line syncs at 43mbps.

The exchange is right across the road from me.

The reason Telkom have increased sync speeds, is so that you get the advertised data rate, ie. 10mbps due to ADSL overheads on a 10mbps sync you would only get around 8mbps.

So no point in getting a 12mbps account as it will only give you speeds of 10mbps or so which any 10mbps account will give you...

Why have everyone not been bumped up then? I am still synching at 4 Mbps, but should be able to do a 7-8 Mbps sync. I guess my DP is locked down to 4096 kbps :(

I wish they would update the software on all the Huawei IMAX units to support Annex M so we could get higher upload speeds on ADSL.
