Since Cata my mb usage per hour has gone up from 10-20mb to 60mb per hour. Is it just me or everyone?

Yeah it's gone up big time. Just questing eats a decent amount.

I've used about 800mb over the past few days streaming download data while playing :erm: Worgen starting areas on 2 different pc's and various dungeons + cata zones :(

Idling in SW doesn't seem to eat as much as Dala did despite the increased number of people in the trade district...at least :p

Well, if the bandwidth usage has increase I haven't noticed any performance degradation on my 384kbps line. Probably all the questing and extra characters running around that have upped the usage.

Id go with this. most servers population has about doubled since monday, and if you are in any of the new zones, your pc has to deal with all those peoples packet info that is being pumped into wow, and straight into your pc. there is a bit of phasing which may help, but not much. see what I did there, I said something smart :)

MB/hour has definitely gone through the roof.... I canned my WA prepaid from now on and Im using battleping on mweb uncapped...

happy now :D

I pay 25c a meg and I have not noticed any increase in bandwidth usage, other than I play more. I watch my BW usage like a hawk and I use between 5-12mb an hour and I queue cata dungeons back to back as a healer while questing. I don't use TS/Vent, I don't use gearscore/playerscore and I use the minimum of add ons, just healbot and Deadly Boss mods that possibly can eat BW.

I also don't raid.

I would guess that most people use BW intensive mods and use TS/Vent a lot which adds on a ton of BW overhead.

Use bitmeter and you will be able to see on the realtime graph exactly how much is being eaten in certain questing areas. In some cases its triple the amount, for example; the undead "gilneas" warzone area.
