i saw they have 10+10GB for new sign ups for R50pm

question ,is it unshaped caped ?

And i do believe they use IS as a backbone?

Yes and yes. Have a 20GB capped account with them.

I also have a 20 gig capped anytime account that I picked up last year for R49 per month. No complaints. (However take note that Connection's support isn't all that responsive compared to some ISPs.)

My understanding is that it is shaped during peak hours. Yes, IS is the backbone. Connection is a reseller of Ignite.

Connection capped products larger than 30-30 are in the business capped category - 50, 100, 150, 200 gigs.

Otherwise you might want to check out IS Ignite's dynamic capped products, which apparently are unshaped.

Connection home capped is now being offered as day / night, not anytime.

Last year I picked up 20 gigs anytime for R49, a promotion running at that time.

BTW I guess the capped products are not shaped, based on Connection's FAQ...

I don't think it's unshaped, but I'm pretty sure the 10+10 package means 20GB anytime data, as they haven't indicated anything about night only data anywhere on the site.

I think they're doing what Afrihost has done. It's a double data promo which they can amend at any time.

How is the connection capped account for torrents - 200-500MB/day.

Check out the Incredible Connection Packages feedback thread. (Keeping in mind that many posts in that thread referring to torrents are using uncapped.) Perhaps grab the 10+10 capped promo (it's only R50) and do a real-world test.

so all in all i think they offer a good product for the price?

Streaming is great
Games are smooth and packet loss free
browsing is excellent
Torrents are quit dead'ish (this is no prob for me seeing i only run torrents after 8pm or weekends)
Http downloads running at full speeds

From AH im use to over 80ms average,IS backbone it looks like smooth sailing again
