Incredible's Connection Packages feedback..

its throttled based on usage , if your a light user you can expect full speed most of the day, it has star rating listed on the control panel.

It runs 100% for me , so long as i did download to much , when i did test downloads with nzb it was full speed.

Done 50GB on the R99 2Meg promo so far. On 2 stars: between 08:00 and 17:00 on weekdays the connection is throttled to about 300Kb/s. After 17:00 it runs flat out.

I consider myself a moderate user (70GB/m with a 4Mbps linespeed) and hover between 3/4 stars. Daytime YouTube/Hulu is good. BBC iPlayer isn't good at any time.

I bought this as a gaming account ( 2mbps at R99,hell ya ),runs awesome

Can anyone compare Connection to Openweb Everyday uncapped 4mbps please?

I havent used the Openweb Everyday uncapped account, only the Openweb Gamers King account. As far as i understand, the Openweb Everyday account is still higher contention then the Gamers King.

If you want to work during the day the Connection account wins, if you mostly use the internet after hours and want to download ALOT Openweb wins.
On Connection you can download, but take note that it uses the normal 10 day rolling IS throttle.

Ask Mr. Beep for a Openweb trail account, and see if you like it. I needed to work during the day, so Openweb was a no go, but i did try it.

And as always, expect to get what you pay for. If you look at a capped account as a yard stick, 50Gb will cost +-R200, so if you pay R100 for a uncapped account, you will either get half the speed or half of the bandwidth, and there will be no guarantee of even that. Some months you will get lucky and get much more then you pay for, but reading these forums tells me its not the rule.

One of the best accounts I have used. Sharing a home 10Mbps account @ R499 with a friend. I'm on 4Mbps and my friend is on 10Mbps. Pretty decent. We are killing it and on 1 star its still performing very very well. Way better than the telkom account which I still have to pay for this month.... :(

I'm not so sure that these account's use a 10 day rolling window.

I purchased a 4mb account on the 13th. I downloaded full speed from about 4pm until 6am the next morning causing my rating to drop from 5 to 3 stars. I haven't used it since the 15th, but is still on 3 stars.

I purchased a 10mb account on the 17th. I downloaded between 8am-11pm sat and sun dropping me from 5 to 3 stars.

So, I don't know but I'm sure it used to take 10 days before the rating would change, it certainly seems to take that long to recover.

Performs good for me and I'm on one star and 96.96GB for the month.
During the day downloads are throttled severely

No, just a 10 day window. If there aren't 10 days in the window yet it will just count those days. To drop from 5 to 3 stars is very easy, my parents are using one of these accounts and have only used about 25GB for the whole month so far and they are on 3 stars.

This is what I am suspecting comparing connection to plugg, which is why I'm trying out the "cheaper" 10mb account on a 4mb line, hoping it's at least easier on the rating than plugg 4mb.
