I got the R99 2MB uncapped deal that they offered to the first 1000 Subscribers. Its shaped drastically during peak hours. I get something like 30kbps DL. off peak I get DL Speeds between 200-250kbps.

My DL over 100GB a month.

Get a business account if you don't like daytime shaping.

Whats shaped during the day ? Just p2p/nbz ? Or is it HTTP as well ?

IS packages like this are throttled based on the star system, since I only game on these if I need a file critically i'll switch and the Torrents/DC++ downloads run full speed

MK is likely getting slowed like that because of his stars

Yeah IS accounts with star rating is throttled based.... No matter what you doing http,p2p,usenet or email the speed will be slowed.

Got it too, the daytime throttling is usual for IS, the problem however is how fast the star rating plummets. Used it sat-sun last weekend and my 4 rating went to 2....

Looks like it's actually a "light" account so probably won't stay with connection for longer than a month or so, hate being lied to.

I disagree. It's common knowledge, or should, be that one has to observe the "23:00-6:00 download window" 7 days a week or else this will happen on ANY IS account.

If you want to download over the whole weekend then I would suggest OW

You can disagree all you like, the star rating falls much faster on IC than on plugg

I have been with plugg for over a year and my 4mb account would disagree, as I can start with 4/5 stars on friday night, klap it over the weekend, and end up on a 1 star rating come monday morning.

I bought a 4mb connection account this month prorata, started with 5 stars on friday, ended up 1 star monday.

Although I can't dispute that cheaper accounts ratings fall quicker, the end result either way is a 1 star rating, if one downloads constantly over the weekend, and is the main reason for trying out connection to see if the rating behaves any different.

I've bought a 10mb connection account on my 4mb line prorata aswell, and tried the weekend thing, 5 stars friday, 3 stars monday, so there's a plus and this is what I will be using from now on to see if it's worth the extra dosh as my plugg account comes to an end tomorrow.

Wow I just noticed..... I have 3 stars now and my total usage this month is 710GB on a 10Mbps account. Pretty decent. I would say if you do average and not so heavy download you will have a awesome exprience with this account.... The average usage on the 10Mbps account is kinda HUGE!

In that case I can only conclude that the star rating does not take line speed into account only usage since my plugg account was 1MB and the connection one is 2MB, thus the difference in the speed of the fall.

Could be, could be :)

The more input we get from others, the better we can decipher this star rating witchcraft :D
