Incredible's Connection Packages feedback..

i have multiple. only way you can know what other isp's are like. if you not a heavy downloader and need daytime access then capped is a possibility. the products are out there, you just need to decide what you need and when you need it.

Sure they're all IS. But is there any difference for those that switched?

from what i gather if you stick to the 'recommended downloading times' your stars remain intact. then everything just works. theres a big exodus from telkom coming soon so who knows how the other isp's will be affected

the pricing for one (connection is much much cheaper), and also, connection will see your star rating dropping faster, than with IS' own consumer brand. i believe thats the option incredible connection selected to build their product set.

Last few months plugg star rating used to drop to 3 pdq - would stay there for a while tho...

OK this is rediculous, where before I was on a 1MB plugg account and averaged 3 stars now on a 2MB IC account I average 1 star. The EXACT same usage patterns. Is this a 1MB to 2MB issue or a PLUGG to IC issue?

From this
* 10 day Rolling Window - If you're in Top 20% of IS users for the 384kbs, 512kbs and 1024kbs connection speeds, your traffic will be prioritized according to a star rating *
* User Policy applies 24/7, Weekends & Public Holidays
* For the 4096kbps Accounts, if you're in Top 50% of IS users for this connection speed, you will be shaped
Which was the original Star Policy, your stars are based on everybody else in the userbase. Some things may have changed but I assume it's still pretty similar

connection's packages are not similar to plugg's and there-for you might find your star rating dropping quicker.

Just do it :)

Must confess I'm a little bit disconcerted.

Usage for the month - 29 gig
Sun, Mon, Tue this week - my adsl was borked so very little d/l
last night, did about 1/2 gig outside of the d/l window and the rest within
running two connections - 2 meg at office - no office traffic at night

rating as at 5 minutes ago - 3 stars

Going to have to monitor this carefully...:erm:

I would say it's a 1mb to 2mb issue as 2mb is the "new" 1mb and without a 100% decrease in IPC costs, how can you expect said ISP to maintain the status quo other than to be harsher on shaping, therefore your stars are going to drop faster.

This is just MHO :)

I'm also on 3 stars, I'm onsite at a customer teamviewing into type here while P2P is downloading (today I have stuff to get through, and will worry about stars later ;))

So, 3 stars aren't that bad.

My current experience is basically, throttled 08:00-17:00, 1MB 17:00-23:00, 2MB 23:00-08:00 and sat+sun.
When you think about it for R99 a month that is not all that bad. With my spending power being rather tight this year I will probably stay with IC unless it worsens even more. Annoying state of affairs but it's the options I have.

Ok so my second time using an IC account, its been 24hours and the lackluster performance has left me extremely annoyed.

Stats :
4Mbps line
Activated: 08/02/2014 (15 hours later)
Download Usage : 11.24gigs
Stars : 3

My average usage is around 100/150gigs monthly but decided to stress test the product and seeing I am already on 3 stars is disappointing. Off to my old ISP I go.
