Incredible's Connection Packages feedback..

With no other traffic at all any http traffic is 0-3KBps
I connect for the sake of seeding but that's it.

Maybe it's picking up the p2p packets and drilling you for it, maybe try close p2p client and see if it gets better after an hour.

If it does, then do that while your account cools off from 1 star. The times I was on 1 star (from red-lining my line over a weekend), I didn't even bother to see how "bad" it would be and used a capped account until 5pm for the sake of having a usable connection if I had to remote in or someone at home needs to do something.

No... if that's the way they want to play it I'll just use torrents during the daytime. Ironically if it was more like PLUGG's shaping I'd generate a lot less traffic during the day because I'd not download at all. Being at 1-star already I cannot see myself having anything to loose.

:O checked now, left torrents on and am at full speed

LOL - I know how you feel, I'm moving on next month. My 10mb account on 4mb line which is slightly more expensive than Plugg's 4mb also remains on 3 stars with similar (well, slightly higher - more weekend usage ;)) usage, and always worrying about stars is tedious, and going to give fat-pipe bolt-on a go.

Same here :D

+1 on the tediousness of stars (last time I hated stars so much was in the days of Scope Magazine)

preg_match_all("/
(.*)
/", $response, $matches);

preg_match_all("/
.*
.*
.*?
(.*?)
.*?
(.*?)
.*?
(.*?)
.*?
(.*?)
.*?
(.*?)
.*?
(.*?)
/s", $response, $matches);//regex is suffering

probably a million other better ways to do it that I don't know about.

That's...insane. :-)

Especially considering your comment after the 2nd preg_match_all(), hehehehe...you would probably enjoy reading the answer to this StackOverflow question:

You don't but it is IS cause some one on another forum bought it and it actually allows 2 concurrent connections.

Vox got too many websites with conflicting information. @lantic/Vox/Voxdatapro

http://www.voxdatapro.co.za/products/adsl_uncapped

2 concurrent connections shouldn't automatically mean it's with IS, but if it is then there would be that star rating thingy and would assume there would be no way to check what it is on their site problem.

It would be interesting to see if anyone that does have Vox/2lantic uncapped what backbone it shows on the speedtest. Hopefully it's on VOX and not IS keeping competition alive and well, keeping each other on their toes :)

On a side note, I'm really enjoying the bolt-on over the weekend. Like for example, it is possible to download nntp and watch netflix same time as the latter takes priority it seems so I don't have to schedule DL's during sleeping hours for the sake of star rating and now not impacting streaming :)

I did read in a mybb news article that vox did say that they resell IS uncapped and sell capped on their own network to keep the capped account quality hight. Let me look that up quickly. That is why I automatically thought it would be on IS.

Center of the article about vox. They resell other networks uncapped offerings.

So I only downloaded over the weekend, and this morning I am down to a 3 star rating on Incredible Connection and I only did like 12.5GB...I read somewhere here that the only count downloads against you if you download during BU hours - guess that is not accurate.

No, you read wrong.

Download between 23:00-6:00 7 days a week to not affect your rating.

Ah man! I thought weekends would count as after hours too! Thanks for letting me know - appreciate. Guess it will take about a week to get back up?

Just an update on my usage with IC uncapped 2MB package. I have done 60 gigs in 15 days. Currently on 2 stars but been on 2 stars for 4 days I think. 2 stars is really not bad at all, can game with low ping, can browse at normal speeds like on 5 stars and can even stream perfectly still. Using xbmc with a few addons like icefilms and 1channel :) Sure downloads through p2p are throttled to 35kbps - 50kbps roughly but downloading the odd file through IDM during the day seems to have little effect whether I am on 5 stars or 2 stars. Still very happy at the moment

I have done 47gigs in 17 days, 2 stars was bearable so I've stayed on until this morning when dropped to 1 star after pulling a 2gig podcast pack at 11:30 last night
