I was on 1 star for the first time this weekend and cannot say that my 2Meg account dipped below 150KB/s at any stage. Watched the Super 15 games via AceStream (torrent) on SkySports without issue as well as some Olympics via BBC Sport on my PS3.

I've actually cancelled my 2Meg account and will be upgrading to the R260 4Meg one when it expires on 1 March.

The star rating applies all the time, you just don't "feel" it between 5pm-8am weekdays and the whole weekend as the network is quiet.

Thanks for the feedback. Seems exactly like what I'm looking for as I most use the internet during those times and I can schedule any downloads for late night.

If you schedule downloads between 00:00 and 06:00, it does not affect the start rating.

90gigs this month from the 2nd February so far and on 3 stars. Was on 2 stars and then chilled for a day and went back to 3 the next day, was quite quick. Anyways, the connection has not failed me once so far and gaming and streaming is awesome. Of course 90gigs is not alot of data and I have not pushed the downloading at all but all in all, it is worth the cash I rate

I've done 73GB since the 11th of Feb and on 2 stars. I downloaded on a Sunday - got moved to 2 stars - then only downloaded p2p for nearly a week between 23:00 and 4:59 - stayed on 2 stars so thought thats it - been downloading everyday all day now and still on 2. They never moved me back up.

You can move that DL window to 6am giving you another hour. Yeah, I'm stuck on 3 no matter how good I am, and that's a 10mb account on a 4mb line.

Off topic! Where do you get the link for Sky Sports Acestream?

I found the damn trigger, as soon as utorrent is running and I open ports for it in the router my http speed plummets.

I am considering switching from wireless to uncapped, is this the most economical deal at the moment?

Yes. It's a great deal. Depends on what's your usage and if you can schedule your downloads to late night.

with this IC account, there are times when I wanna pull my hair out. You know, when you need a file ASAP and it decides to come down at 100K/sec when its usually around 700K/sec

I had to smile last night, when I put on a Afrihost capped package (which is supposed to be UNshaped) and the results were quite depressing. I switched back to my IC account, and away she went....

I'll stick with my IC account for now thanks

how do you guys manage with Acestream though?

It relies on P2P traffic which is DEAD on IC during the day.
I largely watch after 17:00 and weekends so I am not too fazed by the poor performance a 1-Star throttle introduces during the day.

What's up with the speed this week? In some ways it actually gets worse after 5...

Some feedback

Okay signed up last night for the 2 mb uncapped home special and probably a bit soon but so far Im impressed. Speed test was full speed 220 KB/s, streamed netflix at 480p and played bf4 and got between 10 - 12 ms pings local. Also scheduled my p2p for 00:00 till 6:00 and that also ran full speed for the 6 hours.

Like I said maybe to soon but will see if this keeps up Im happy.
