Incredible's Connection Packages feedback..

Ok so my second time using an IC account, its been 24hours and the lackluster performance has left me extremely annoyed.

Stats :
4Mbps line
Activated: 08/02/2014 (15 hours later)
Download Usage : 11.24gigs
Stars : 3

My average usage is around 100/150gigs monthly but decided to stress test the product and seeing I am already on 3 stars is disappointing. Off to my old ISP I go.

Sounds like you have other issues.

Full speed here and I ave 300-400GB (4mb line).

One major piece of criticism.... connection.co.za takes forever to load on 1 star :wtf: should it not be prioritized to load fast no matter what star rating you have?

Agreed, though iirc Internet Solutions use a rolling ten day window to determine your account status based on your usage with no specific days being counted.

For me to raise my stars rating I had to go another ISP for 2 weeks till I picked up 2 stars :(

downloaded skyrim online beta client, which is about 25GB, saturday and Im down to 2 stars

fail

haha

Definitely a fail. Staggering your downloads doesn't seem to help either I'm afraid. I really wanted this product to work :(

I'm on the IC package and have done 33.7GB in 8 days and on 3 stars but stream, download, browse and game all 100% during the day and night. So far, I am enjoying this product.

The star rating IS the priority level, therefore, 1 star = naughty mat for being a naughty boy.

You must have klapped it over the weekend and not kept to the 23:00-6:00 (this will not affect your star rating) window.

Now you are stuffed for about a week.

Because you follow the rules like me.

I'm on 180GB.

This is true but the ISP's own site should logically be completely unaffected by the star rating.

Not really, browsing is browsing, why should some sites be more important than others, to what end?

Just face it, if you are on 1 or 2 stars, better get a capped account for during the day until your account cools off, or cancel and go to AH/OW/Mweb

What's your speeds like now on 2 stars wingnut for interest sake. Browsing, downloading, streaming and gaming if you can test.

No matter what my stars are, I always get full speed between 5pm-8am.

It's just peak times (8am-5pm) IF the network is busy will you be "prioritised" accordingly.

To the end where it makes no sense to slow a user down to the point where even basic account related actions are impossible? By which I mean it takes 15+m for the site to load... It shows a lack of self respect from the ISP if nothing else, a complete lack of professional pride. The ultimate end to the logic, if you make even basic administrative tasks painful you can hardly be said to care for the supposed valuable client... And this kind of technical negligence just plain annoys me in general, I can handle my account basically being dead 08:00-17:00 but stupidity of this kind p-s me off.

I hear you bro, but it's the name of the game of SA internet, we can't have our cake and eat it with Telkom's IPC charges.

I call the star rating the carrot and stick approach, because unfortunately, one has to learn the hard way what 1 star is like (the stick), and doesn't normally make that mistake again (if they decide to stick around ;))

Accidentally discovered something, browsing is basically castrated but torrents go at 100KBps... wtf
This is on one star

Is this at the same time out of curiosity? I hear OW shaping policy kills browsing if one is downloading at the same time and that they should stop their DL's and after an hour the shaping relaxes on the browsing, so curious to see if this is an OW or IS thing.

With no other traffic at all any http traffic is 0-3KBps
I connect to torrents for the sake of seeding but that's it.
