incredible connection mess up

I'd keep it - if they notice - take it back - tell them you didn't know :p

...these days I don't give to hoots about stores, companies, etc... they'll screw you over every chance they get...

I'd take it back and ask them to exchange it for the correct unit.

If they refuse to exchange it, then keep it.

+1

Act stupid as if you didn't know :D

Exactly. Act stupid as if you didn't know what a PC is should anything go wrong with it. They can't do anything. Otherwise just keep it

They cant do anything legally to make you give it back or pay the difference. Its a fault of theirs.

Well if it isn't against your morals you could keep it. They can't legally do much, many people don't know **** about pc parts, you could just act like you one of them. Makes me think what I'd do in that situation.

What does the spec on the box say?, i have a client that went for one of the deals iTalk do, and Hi-Fi corp support (you get the lappie at Hi-Fi), a 1.6Ghz DC and that is what it said on the box. When he got home there was a Celeron machine in the box with different specs that what the box states. He took it back and they blatantly told him he was lying and trying to cheat them. Eventually they opend a new box, and it was the same thing, wrong model inside the box. So they upgraded him to a bigger model.

I feel like you do... I would morally feel an obligation to return it but dunno if I would. Like everyone else says, it's payback for IC.

Doubt you can get into trouble for it so if you don't have any issues, enjoy your stroke of good luck ;)

Well the only issue I can possibly ever see here is IC will report the item stolen once they do their stock take - most likely the lappie you where suppose to get will disappear during this time when somebody notices, hey here is a spare one :)

This will result a zero sum situation and you score. Since nobody ever checks the serial number on your lappie you score a nice deal.

And to top it all, since this is IC - nobody gives a damn and you become our Hero

That moral obligation is so irritating. Though the package he's on he'll probably cover their costs anyway.

Oh please! What are all of u going on about, legalities. morality, blah blah blah. I say fsck 'em. Keep the damn thing. They gave it to you - morality sorted. They gave it to you - legality sorted. If all else fails, do what most sales people do. Play stupid! Although in reality they are stupid. I mean this is a fine example of their stupidity. I agree with xrapidx, and I quote " these days I don't give to hoots about stores, companies, etc... they'll screw you over every chance they get..." Once again fsck 'em!

There no moral obligation here - IC is a company - not another person who is now suffering a loss.

What an incredible mess up, I feel feathers for them, they are so ridiculously over priced it is not even funny....They deserve it.

Who knows how often this happens, most people who buy from IC dont know any beta, so like wat PythonFSi said play dumb, its not a loss for IC anyway they cover for things like this, dont worry about it, if/wen it breaks take it back and if the do say something(they wont) play dumb.

I envy you, though how are you going to explain yourself when you have a problem with the laptop and send it back to them because its under warranty?

acer u take straight to acer, no to incedible corruption. :)
