Well, I received an Xbox from my brother for xmas and was pretty excited to give it a go. I plugged it in and started playing on my new samsung LCD and I really enjoyed the experience, well, that is until it froze up. It kept freezing constantly so the next day I decide to take it to IC for an exchange.

The moron says to me that IC do not exchange faulty xboxes and I need to contact Microsoft and DIMedia for the exchange.

Basically my bro bought this for me on the 23rd. On the 25th I opened it and took it back on the 26th. How can they sell faulty goods and then turn their backs on us when we arrive for the exchange. This has to be illegal in some way!!!

They should at least provide for the xbox rxchange. Why should I have to go to the trouble of exchanging this xbox. Im so fed up with these twats. Also, my girlfriend bought me an external hard drive. Obviously she is clueless when it comes to electronics so she used IC to buy it. They charged her R1600 for a 160gb Iomega Hard drive. I am truly so angry with these fu*ck wads.

Ha-Ha, why do you think their nickname is Incredible "Corruption?"

I hear horror stories such as this on a daily basis. You can call any branch only to reach someone who will say something along the line of "Eish, we do not know" when asking them a question about their products or stock availability.

This can however not just be blamed on the employees, but mostly the finger must be pointed at management who do not seem to make it a priority to properly train their staff and make sure the person(s) who answer the phones know what they are doing so that leads can be turned into sales.

Im giving them a call on Monday. Apparently they will replace it within 5 working days although the idiot at IC said it was 48hrs. Shows how much they know. Haha. I'd love to see that.....48hrs!!! :)

I lectured my brother and girlfriend on why they should never buy anything from IC. They finally understand. Agreed about training the staff though. Three seperate staff members told me I could do a direct swap. The manager who must have been hitlers Grandson came out and makes me feel like a complete tool and basically throws me out. Im complaining about him big time but I doubt they will do anything about him. By the way, this was the Menlyn park branch in pta and the managers name is Ruben Franke. If you ever see him throw some tomatoes his way.

WHile IC is a rip off price wise, more and more stores don't do 360 swap outs. Some stores have dropped selling them at all. Most companies agree it's just not worth stocking a product that give them so many problems.

You know the product has a problem when the retailer has a special process in place to replace it.

They're trying to get the distributor to take the problem. If you accept, then they are in the clear. Refuse and refuse again. It's not your problem, you bought it from them, so THEY must handle everything.

This is the normal route when returning faulty products, except for the Xbox. You can take your Xbox back to HiFi Corp/DionWired/insert your major retailer here, they'll all tell you the same thing.

Well the law is quite clear on this point.

I agree, it should be. I personally think we have ourselves to blame for making it the distributor's problem, its unfortunate that due to the high number of failures the Xbox community have had to make inroads to the distributors thus giving the retailers an easy ride.

well some stores, like toys r us, have simply dropped the xbox 360 completely.

I understand the whole send your console back to Mi for swop thing...but jeez..it's still within 7 days. I think the retail policy should be that you can take it back to the store within 7/14/30 days of purchase and ONLY after that would your require to contact Mi Digital directly.

Think about it, you go to the shop, you buy a brand new xbox, the unit is working fine but only the controller is messed....see where I'm going? I can return the unit within a hour after purchase and they'll still tell me same story.

The current policy is a bit broken IMO.

Can't you try your luck at another branch. If you still have the receipt you should be able to go back to any branch. Maybe another branch has a better customer orientated manager!

You can also phone their call center to find out the real story on swapping out faulty units:

Incredible Call Centre on 08600 11 700
