Well. I went to Incredible today to buy a nic.
I ask the guy "Network Cards?" He takes me to a pile of 56k modems..
Seriously? Modems? A Whole PILE of them? I was a bit surprised... Surely that can't be a hot seller now days.
Anyway when I turned around the dude was gone.

So I found another dude.
"I'm looking for a nic."
He says "Who?"
I resist the urge to yank him around a bit and I say "I need 10/100 Ethernet Card"
Blank look
"Its an emergency" I add for effect.
He looks at me a little funny as it dawns on him "A NETWORK card" he says..
"Bingo"
He takes a determined step before stopping dead.
He turns to me "Wireless?" he asks hopefully.
My heart drops. "No"
He says "We don't have any"
I look at him.
He tries again" I'm sorry, we don't have any"
"Why?" I ask
He nods his head " Wireless" he says..

SERIOUSLY? A whole fadam shabam big ass pile of 56k modems but not 1 network card in the place?

WAHAHAAHA!!! :D
I have yet to meet a competent IC employee. And to think people out think IC is the only place in South Africa that sell computer parts. Some even use them and ComputerMania as their corporate IT supplies!!!

and they open up all of their game cases and remove the cd, I had to return games a couple of times because of the CD-KEY being already used

I have found various levels of competence with IC staff, some know their stuff, some don't. I find that they usually want to hawk Belkin products, which are damn expensive. I also have to wonder why they still stock so many 56k modems, and even the external models. Seriously, unless you setting up a PC for faxing....

they wanted 3k for a NORMAL 19'' wide screen which i got the identical one for 1.2k
oh and they tried to sell me a PSU that i bought 5 mins ago across the street for R300 more

Incredible are really a joke. KNow less then my Gran and so F'ing expensive it will feel like a violation. Don't ever buy from those 'bordering on the criminal' fools. By the way they probably did have one but the idiot doesn't know a networkcard from a hair drier.

That's why I call them Incredible Corruption... bunch of dumbass school leavers and affirmative appointments who know ziltch about their products.
Pricing structure only to suit the ultra-rich buyers that obviously also know ziltch about computing.
A friend was once looking for an el-cheapo PCI soundcard which can be obtained anywhere for less than R100. I went there with him, only because it was an emergency and also a Sunday - no other places open.
The little @sshole sales jack said: "Sorry, we don't carry stock, but can order one for you at around R550" FARK!!!! We didn't want a top of the range card, and needed it ASAP, so told him it's OK and that we'll just wait for the next morning to get one from a reputable dealer that does carry stock at less than R100.
His reply... "Don't ever go to that place, their stuff always break and doesn't have any warranty"

Stuff which falls off the back of the truck does not carry warranties. ;)

IC is nice because you get a 7 day money back refund warranty. Of course for products which need to be repacked, they charge a 15% restock fee but most stuff is OK.

Then you have no clue. I get my stuff from a small pc shop and have 3 year warranty and they only charge at cost.

Thats a rip-off. Incredible Rip-Off is what they should call themselves.

Nah they got it spot on with incredible con, i.e. Incredulously trying to con us out of our hard earned cash. Asking me R1500 for an fx5200 pci card 4years ago stopped me from ever setting foot in one of their stores again.

Yes that sounds about right... they only charge at COST, wahahaha... a pc store only charges at cost. Let me guess they pay rent in empty boxes too. Lol not trying to be funny but seriously dude if you think they only charge at cost it may just be YOU who has no clue. :p

They charge me at cost at any rate. Its my dads buddy whose mother owns the shop and she only adds 5% dude. Fair enough they only charge me that:p I paid R1200 for my amd quad-core phenom black edition last year. The cheapest I could find was like R2500 so you tell me.

Ok fair enough, thought you meant that they literally charge at cost... to EVERYONE. lol
