Incredible's Connection Packages feedback..

Anybody know whether its possible to transfer an account to another person? i.e. full hand over.

Would prefer to not sign up a new one....has to be a transfer.
 
Tried phoning these guys...

Still happy with the account...but that support line is truly craptastic even by SA standards. Got some pre-recorded story about they'll phone me back follow by a message about their mailbox being full. :erm:
 
I send them mail asking about IS news sever access. Took about a week or two for a reply. I kid you not.


O man, don't know why, but this account is bad. 3 stars, can't download (NNTP) between 5pm - 10pm. My http download (Nvidia drivers) last night was at 80-90 KB/s. That is on a 4 meg line.

Youtube is useless , buffers like mofo...

Buy your own damn accounts instead of trying to sponge off people every 2-3 days.
 
Anyone with a capped account know how to top-up these accounts? I can only find an upgrade/downgrade option.

Nope. Can find no way to top-up.

The issue I have, is that it's not possible to input a different credit card using Connection's online control panel. Guess will have to do this over the phone.

Speeds are becoming very poor during the day on my 2Mb Uncapped account. I'm on 5 Stars. Speedtest results look great, but testmy.net results show what's really happening.

It's not my line btw. Other accounts run at full speed. ~1.58Mbps.

I agree. I'd love for them to decrease their throttling a bit. Granted, I'm on three stars, but its a bit too slow for my liking. Browsing has become unbearable during the day. I guess you get what you pay for (its still a bargain, no doubt)

Now that I'm at home for Campus holidays, I think I'm going to need to buy some capped data for daytime browsing. I've been using my 1GB/pm free Afrihost data, but thats def not going to cut it for the next 3 months.

3 Stars was always slow on these accounts, but 5 Stars used to be almost unshaped during peak hours.

Now I struggle to get webpages to load during the day. :( It's not a major issue for me since I have a capped account for daytime downloads, but I would still like to use this account for daytime browsing.
 
Im on 1 star at the moment and the account is barely usable. so it looks asif if this shaping is not after hours after all.

You'd have to push it properly hard for a 1 star though...mine has stayed on 5 star even with normal usage.

Torrents during peak hours will get you to 1 star very fast with minimal effort. It's not always about how much you download, but also the type of traffic.

1 star will be unusable right up until midnight. Even after midnight you'll find yourself being shaped. I think they're oversubscribed now, but it was good while it lasted.

yep. These accounts seem rather sensitive to volume as well though. Which is a little weird since IS has a steam server

You probably downloaded a lot during peak hours then. It sucks that they now throttle all hours when you hit 1 star. Before, I didn't have to worry, because I could get my downloads done between 00:00 and 6:00 even if I was on 1 star. :(
 
I'm on 3 starts, after 5pm it's okish for streaming youtube and browsing.

But this feel similar to Plugg. At least I pay +- R200 less...
 
1 star and if you are in the top 20% of high usage then you will be throttled.
