That's shaping for you. After 5pm and it's full speed again. The stars don't really matter unless you was downloading 24/7.

sorry should have specified, this was yesterday after 6pm.

I think it depends how much you went over the 10 day threshold... so yours can be replenish quick if you just went over the limit, but if you burned for a few days... then you going to wait.

Looks like you can chew through 4 times more data if you're streaming.

Account is unusable and I had to log into another just to browse here to post.

Now to see what happens at 5pm.

Okay, I think I've proved my point in that no matter what your star rating, you should always get full speed after 5pm.

Now I'm going back to scheduling my stuff for 23:00-6:00, now lets see how long it takes to recover.

How this account was when I got home (unusable) reminds me of all the peeps on openweb thread complaining about not being able to browse etc, but OW don't use star ratings, yeah right.
 
For the last few months, most part of the month, I have noticed that my internet doesn't return to normal after 5pm. Browsing will be really slow to not working and downloading will be around 3kbps. Round about 11pm - 12pm internet and download speeds will return to normal. What I do notice after 8am is that internet browsing will be dead but download speeds would still be good. Full download speeds after 8am with dips now and then. That doesn't mean I download after 8am.

Parts of the months the internet will go back to normal where after 5pm internet is great, browsing and download speeds. But for the most part browsing, youtube and downloads kicks in after 11pm and dead at 8am with download speeds still being ok.

Not sure what is going on. Afrihost cap works fine after 5pm.

All my tests are relative to DBN IPC.

Maybe things are different in other parts?

My internet was crap last night. 4Meg , but I could barely make 200 KB/s (which should be 400KB/s) on NNTP. Streaming was bad again. But I did reboot the router and streaming (youtube) went fine.

11pm-1am full line speed, then it dropped to about 250KB/s according to Alt-Binz.

Not sure if it's rain/Telkom or what ever. Pretoria Moot Area. 4 Star rating.
 
Anyone else experiencing high latency/spikes on these packages. It might be IS as well though as I tried WA and Gridhost which game same high latency but Afrihost and Axxess work well.

In my experience, as soon as I drop below 5 stars, latency starts to increase (I assume that's part of being deprioritised). Three stars and below is when I start to notice the real throttling during peak hours. 2 stars or less, usually means slow internet for me any time of the day.
