India plans 'USD10' laptop

When will OUR government realise that it's not just about being literate anymore, it's about being computer literate in the digital age we live in.

The reason why the poor stay poor, is they can't get basic, well paying jobs because they have little or no computer literacy. So they are stuck in a full day job, working hard to make ends meet just to support their family. And we have the luxury of a relatively well paying job, with decent hours and enough money to live sufficiently and even more to play around with and invest in ourselves to grow and earn even more.

Our government needs to understand how important that relationship is, and how that is ultimately the key to a successful and stable country. They need to initiate and take the first steps, inspiring and incentivising big businesses to get on board, and effectively lead the country out of the pits. We can't do it ourselves, because we keep standing on each other's heads while we desperately try to claw our way out. We need someone at the top who is in a position to let down the rope and pull us out.

*sigh*....

It is in the ANC government's interests to keep the masses ignorant. Ignorant voters will keep voting for them over and over again (like Zanu-PF). Educated voters who can access info on the internet will quickly realize what a sham the ANC is and will either form their own party (like COPE did) or will vote against the corruption and degradation.

Jokes aside, awesomeness. Africa needs something like that. I work in a privileged school, and even there such things would be awesome. So come on India, show the world what the 3rd world can do. Um, no, don't look to us. Why not? Zuma. Knew you would understand. hehe!
