North Korea was a party to the treaty but announced its withdrawal on 10 January 2003; its withdrawal became effective ninety days later.

Yet they are not allowed to test nukes and get heavily sanctioned. Why can the US build nukes? They also signed the treaty but i am not fully understanding why they are exempt.

Why haven't iran pulled out of it? it takes 90 days to be removed and then you should in theory be allowed to build and test nukes.

maybe it doesnt take 90 days and there is no such "get out" clause. Which is why Iran have not used it. The North Koreans are nuts and would say anything.

EDIT: There is a 90 day clause. I guess this explains why they havent bombed NK yet. Other than the fact that China might get annoyed.

So whats your point again? That we're screwed? Yes, everyone knew that a loooong time ago. We'll either kill each other for water, or "accidentally" launch a nuke, or all die from a virus, or have major transformers wiped out by a strong enough solar event etc etc etc
