Indian breads

Took my daughter to Mumbai Café today to try several different dishes.

She is now serious about being a vegetarian.

They didn't have Puri Patha or Soji. Was quite disappointed.

In this week I will try the other suggestions in Rylands.

yeah but they food isnt the best at all
bismillah is also close by in gatesville
the metro food centre keeps good food as well

I tried Shayona the other day.
Madarchod is what they are.

Charged me R55 for 2x bhurfee and 4x gulab jamun.

Total ripoff. I also ordered puri patha @ R20 for 3 - wasn't as tasty as the ones I had in Durban.

This experience actually pissed me off. So short-sighted in the age of social media and open sharing of experiences.

Unfortunately any Indian stuff you buy up in the big smoke won't be as good as down in good old Durbs....

Unfortunate. I've always been happy with the stuff from Shayona in Laudium.. but yes.. the sweetmeats can be a bit pricey, but when your options are limited, and you don't buy that often, I don't really look at the prices.

We make our own sweetmeats! Its not that hard!

That's true, I have to get into the mindset that it is now a "spoilly" and not an everyday quick snack occurrence.

Look, I can't fault the quality and taste. Just the price was a bit of a shocker. And I really could not see a reason for such a large disparity between Durban and Cape Town pricing. I thought my only struggle would be to locate a place that actually sells them.

Naive is me.
