For travelling to any of the Indian Ocean Islands - Mauritius, Madagascar, Reunion, etc, who are your preferred travel service provider? Trying to avoid rip-offs.

We did Easter in Mauritius last year via Flight Centre. I felt the deal was a good one. R40K or thereabouts for 7 days (2 adults & a 2y/o). It included return flights, airport shuttle, all meals & drinks, some activities around the hotel & day care for the little one. That creche had such cool activities, we decided to hang out there when they brought in a guy with reptiles one afternoon. It was a 3 star, but nicer than SA 3 star.

Make sure your package includes all meals (& drinks if possible). Food is extremely expensive compared to SA or destinations like Thailand. I paid something ridiculous like R200 for a club sandwich with chips & a coke at the airport :wtf:

Seems a bit pricey for a 3 star...

You can compare on Travelstart.com / hotels and flights

I went through Harvey Travel to Mauritius. Flew SA airways as it was better flight times. Stayed at Solana Beach Resort 4 star, 8 nights. All inclusive 17k each
