Indian space rocket explodes soon after launch

I don't see the big deal. This is just a failed launch, happens all the time. People aren't on NASA's case when they experience a mishap. India's had a space program since 1969, their own carrier rockets since the 70's, almost 60 satellites and even a lunar probe. SA has a looong way to go to catch up, even to India.

SA will have a huge Budget of which little will be spent on the actual event.

Nationalism. Kinda like my dick is bigger than yours ;)

Maybe because it makes sense? I'm all for it to be honest. Their population is going to grow even more and between them and China the next competition around space will be to colonize the moon/mars. I'm excited :)

They should look into launches with Richard Branson. Fail/safe (expensive satellites won’t be wasted). Branson could probably use the money as well. They have a different launch philosophy to twatty NASA.

Well.. Globalisation has been pretty darn successful don't you think?
