iBurst was great, but they have clearly overloaded their network, I get great speeds at 2am but during the day, dial-up speeds. Their iBurst Launcher updates itself automatically. It did that yesterday Thurs 6 Dec and now does not display Kb left. This is not ok. It is also slower. And is now continually downloading data from the net at around 20kbps.. irritating, unacceptable, inefficient, slows my notebook down, and is THEFT- as I am PAYING for this data! I emailed them (helpdesk) and got a reply from Lebohang to say he/she would handle my request: "With regards to your request of the dashboard not displaying bandwidth usage, please find the information requested below", I did not request that, I wanted it fixed! And nothing was sent "below" anyway! And the leaking of data continues! Stuck with a 2yr contract.

Uninstall the dashboard software and create a "dial-up" connection. The "spyware" (software) is not going to help you at all. This is used by iBurst to spy on your internet usage. You can always use the iBurst website to check your data usage. Good luck with the contract.

welcome to MyADSL scubesscubes..

Funny that some people on this forum said that they'd never install that dashboard and called it malware..and other members called the first bunch paranoid..go figure

????? so tell us why the dashboards needs to update itself then. Why don't iBurst update their network instead of overloading it with R49 specials.

Same story here, now we know why iburst gave away free bandwidth, every time you use the dashboard you pay - this useless thing then start downloading in the background, so called update. what next ?

I wouldn't use it, but why on earth would iBurst use a dashboard app that a some of their subscribers use to "spy on your internet usage"? They are your internet provider, they could do that where ever they wanted inside their network.

Wait till you get the R1000 bill.. hehe, then give us a shout about theft.

Yep. I just installed iBurst and saw the same thing. The Dashboard sucks data. I have nothing running on my system except MSN Messenger. Connected for 20 minutes, and 46mb was USED UP. Windows Updates are disabled, Antivir updates disabled, everything. I close the Dashboard and connect the PPPoE connection manually, fixed. Connection sits idle.

guess that's how they fek their R49 customers over...

"here instsall this... (2min later) oh I'm sorry you are capped! You need to buy this booster pack!"

"What's that? oh you want to cancel... ok pay in the rest of the 2 year contract to cancel"

"Or we could migrate you to the #$%& package for extra $$$$"

I read that they are giving 500mb free bandwidth to "lucky" people that use the Dashboard. Um..... I'd rather they don't steal my legit bandwidth with that piece of software!!

Lmao, guess where that "Free" bandwidth is coming from for these lucky subscribers? Your account! Makes sense, "500 Mb goes missing form some poor buggers acc, 500 Mb gets found by a lucky user" ;)

With all due respect, the iBurst dashboard is officially classed as spyware

I cannot remember which package went ape**** about it but I installed an antivirus on a customer's PC and one of the things it wanted to remove was the iBurst dashboard which led me to dig deeper and discovered that was what it was. I removed the errant software and supplied the customer with a router and that was the end of that. He had also complained about excessive data usage which then went down the moment I addressed the problem
