The Internet Society’s South African Chapter (ISOC-ZA) is pleased to announce INET 2010 taking place on 24 May 2010 at Le-Vendome in Sea Point, Cape Town.

Sponsored by .CO.ZA registrars UniForum SA and Dark Fibre Africa, the conference will see global experts examining what it will take to create a lower-priced and higher-speed Internet.

The role of fibre optic cables in bringing affordable Internet access to all South Africans is likely to be a hot topic.

Entrance is free and more information can be found at: http://wiki.isoc.org.za/INET

All anyone has been doing for the last 20 years is talking .... we still sit with sub-standard internet dominated by Telkom. As long as Telkom holds the monopoly nothing is ever going to change, Icasa and all the rest is just a waste of taxpayers money and seem to achieve nothing because Telkom still sits there like the puppet master of South African internet. I've also yet to see any improvement to the Internet in South Africa since Seacom arrived.
