Infected sinus cavity.

Confused...? Why...? :D Sounds like you have maxillary sinusitis to me, especially with the associated toothache. The antibiotics should sort you out.

I don't know, he muttered something about there not being the expected clinical symptoms. He seemed a bit harried, poor guy. In any case, I reckon, yeah, the antibiotics should kick the ass of whatever it is. :D

Gp's and their antibiotics. Here's some amoxicillin, let's nuke your body and see if we get some results. That'll be R400.

Didn't cost me a cent, luckily. Surprisingly my very paltry medical aid covered it.

You are right about their attitude regarding antibiotics, but I had to do something.

Not a fan of some GPs becoming like Mc Donald's, instead of fries, a side order of antibiotics accompanies EVERYTHING.

That practise is going to cause major issues someday.

Well, I'd think the bigger problem is underground, black-market distribution of antibiotics. At least with a doctor, a full course is provided, and the patient is always urged to finish it.

On the black-market though people take bits and pieces, creating god knows what sorts of disease abominations.

GP's really are useless. They have no idea what's wrong. Give you a bunch of pills, and if it doesn't fix it then they try something else. They might was well look into the tea leaves.

It's just unfortunate you still need them for prescriptions.

Amen to that FFS.

Went on this absurd course of antibiotics, and as things stand, I'm still in the same state as I was when I started this thread, in fact, if anything, it's worse.

I had a similar issue last year. Only thing that dried up my snot was a Natura product (purple & white bottle) called Nasosinus.

Try getting it from a chemist (obviously) and some big supermarkets.

Good luck.

I've had sinus issues for years, it's just always been on the other side of my head, and I've never had such a long lasting issue. Drying up the sinus is not actually a good idea, as far as I understand, as then all the gunk kind of gets trapped in there, I think.
