Info on power banks

Most batteries are probably made in China anyways. It's ironic that my Huawei P1 's built in battery is still going strong after 32 months of daily charging but my friends with S3's and S4's already had their batteries replaced under warranty.

Are power banks only for phones? Can a 2in1 notebook get top up charge from a power bank and is it dependant on the charge connect point?

Depends on connection, voltage and amperage. It's most unlikely that a power bank (typically 5 volt output) will suit your notebook.

The newer laptops have a USB Type-C power (PD) port that is used for charging a laptop. I am actually busy testing a powerbank that is specifically designed and has the proper ratings to charge a laptop. It's a Ravpower Blade Series 20100mAh Portable Charger. So if you laptop has the correct PD port you can attach this powerbank. It also has 2 normal USB ports for charging phones and tablets.

What's also cool, is that instead of attaching your laptop's AC adaptor to the laptop, you can attached the powerbank to the wall outlet and the laptop to the powerbank, and it will keep the battery charged. If there is a power failure or loadshedding, the laptop still just works off the powerbank.

Thank you, I will see if the laptop has the new USB type charge port. The 2in1 is going to be for school use, thought my Romoss Jump Starter might be able to help top up as kids are not able to charge at school.
