Hi, Thought i would make this post as I struggled to find the relevant information online.
Our HD2PVR recently packed up, so we went out and got an HD 5S to replace it in our extra view setup.
Open the box there is only one port on the back LNB in. (WTF what happened to the rf out in). Lots of googling around and I find out I need a diplexer to distribute the heart beat signal from the Explora 1.
Diplexer

So hook everything up no heartbeat. It turns out you need the Smart LNB 2 ( 3 unicable 1 universal) vs the old smart (4 unicable 2 legacy)
Smart LNB 2

Smart LNB 1

So for an Explora 1 - 3 extra view setup you need.
So run one cable from A on LNB to the diplexer from the diplexer run the SAT output to the LNB input of the explora, the other output you run to the RF in/out. The diplexer is responsible for sending the heart beat to the LNB.
Decoder 2
Run cable from B on LNB to LNB IN
Decoder 3
Run cable from C on LNB to LNB IN
Decoder Installation
This is a bit tricky you need to match the frequencies with the index number you assign in the satellite setup.
Generally the Explora will be configured on Indexes 0 1 2
the second decoder on 3 and 4 the third decoder on 5 and 6.
Frequencies
0: 1210
1: 1420
2: 1680
3: 2040
4: 1006
5: 1057
6: 1108
Edit: record serial numbers of decoders and which is which for contacting DSTV

- Diplexer (no idea if needed on the 2a and 3a) https://www.hdcabling.co.za/2-way-s...wer-without-rf-ports-for-heartbeat-p-910.html
