Deposit cash? Never.

That banks are allowed to charge extra because it is cash boggles the mind.

@bwana, they have to charge for taking all of 5 seconds for putting your money through a note counter

Cash is material. It may be stolen so there's a security risk in them storing it, transporting it etc. There are also the costs of storage and transportation.

Even though it's also possible to steal electronically, it takes a far higher skill level and it's somewhat easier to track.

True, any fool can steal cash, but the banks are fleecing the people that support them in the first place with ridiculous fees

As an employer my biggest gripe with banks is the exorbitant fees they charge for having a savings account and making withdrawals at an ATM.

I employ manual labour and none of my employees have bank accounts because of the transaction fees so I'm forced to pay them cash.

With an Internet connection, SMEs can manage all of their transactions electronically.

Where does one get an affordable one of these that doesn't fail after a week because it is capped?

Whatever.. The banks are the worst lot. They rip a new ring for us with their insane charges and then insult us by telling us they care so much about us.

My business would save thousands every month if we didn't get ripped by the banks and Telkom.
