Injector Cleaner

BG 44K - Factory Recommended by Range Rover for dirty Injectors (specified for use before any injector work is performed) - but it is pricey

It works. Used it on my toyota corolla with 230 000km on the clock. When I filled up the second tank I noticed the car idle so much better. It also lowered the revs a bit. When I stop at the robots my friends think the car is off as you cant feel the car idling.

I took my car for a service at kessel motors and saw on the service bill they used carb cleaner spray, my car does run a little better after that service... maybe those wynns products are not that bad.

Slightly off-topic, but not by too much...

I've done about 10 000km on my first turbo-diesel car, and I was wonder what kind of goodies I should (shouldn't) add to my car to keep it tip-top, apart from the normal 15 000km service, of course.

Any suggestions on what you guys have found to work?

Just follow the user manual and observe maintenance intervals... if it ain't broke....

Hehe...makes sense.

Also, I've heard of a lot of people recommend to take my car for a service every 10 000kms as opposed to the 15 000kms interval, as well as to look at the possibility of fitting a second in-line fuel filter.

Any merit to these suggestions in your opinion?

What car is it?the second in line fuel filter is popular with the hilux/fortuners.i read at one point they actually had a shortage of injectors in the country because of them packing up.with regards to service intervals-more can only hurt your wallet :P

there is quite a few places that take the injectors out and run a cleaner through them. they test and make sure all injectors are similar in flow and spray pattern. makes quite a big difference.

or just add about 5 litre of toluene to a full tank

Well if you have not seen it before it means it is not yours! Move away from the table, the owner will soon arrive looking for his bottle and money that he may have forgotten about and driven away.
