Hi. My son has been bitten by something and the area has become swollen/infected. It appears to be spreading and I'm not happy with the GP's opinion so I'd like to consult another doctor. Do I consult with a Dermatologist or Physician?

Where is the bite? Is there a definite bite mark?

Ask the doc about the possibility of a staph infection.

Toxicologist - a large hospital in your area should have one

I read that as Incest Bite - hurriedly clicked on the thread - and was disappointed it was just an insect bite! :cautious:

And realized pussy (pus filled) and pussy are spelt the same! Strange - never gave that any thought before now

It seems like whatever bit him has laid eggs underneath the skin. Have to start with an anti-biotic and apply surgical disinfectant solution. If this fails, will have to cut and remove.

Yikes, poor kid. Hope this heals quickly.

Pics please. I’m keen to see the eggs

Im not aware of SA having any insects that would lay eggs under skin, if this is really the case you should contact our center for disease control because this is newsworthy.

There is really only 11 insects that would something like this and none of these are rampant in SA or at all.

Only 2 variations that might be possible is fly or mite related but fly is unlikely and the mite situation would mean you live in absolute filth for that to occur.

Last possibility is some sort of tick which is probably the most likely scenario in SA.

And there you have it folks, we've arrived at the pivotal question:

Does OP live in filth?
