Insert chapters into a single mp3 file

Has anyone ever added 'chapters' or bookmarks to a single mp3 file? I have a couple of 1+ hr mp3 tracks composed of multiple songs and i'd like an easy way for jumping to the next position / song in the track.

Thanks dabean, wasn't quite what i was looking for as this creates a file for each chapter. But it MIGHT be what I end up having to do.

The problem is that chapters weren't part of the mp3 format originally. You can work around it with something like this: http://id3v2-chap-tool.sourceforge.net/ but there's no guarantee your player will recognize them (most just skip to the next track). The other option is making a m4a (could also have compatibility problems).
