Insomnia help needed.

For the last couple of weeks I cant sleep. I wake up at 01:30 and then might fall asleep again around 04:30. What can I do? It's killing me. I start work at 06:00 am, but cant function. I have tried Somnil, but makes me feel like a Zombie, and does not help me sleep.
 
Are you on any chronic meds?

If it's a sudden onset then it can sometimes be traced to a behavioural change or a change in routine.

Try reading a book before bed and try and stay away from electronic devices with a display at least an hour before bedtime (easier said than done, nowadays).
 
Are you eating enough? Are you exposing yourself to bright light before bedtime? What's your caffeine intake like? Alcohol?
 
Are you moving during the day, or sitting around all the time? Getting sunlight?
 
The only 'natural remedy' that has worked for me when I have proper insomnia is melatonin. With very mild insomnia diphenhydramine (betasleep) works well enough.
 
I cut out the chronic meds, I guess its WFH that might have an impact.
Chronic meds for what? Are your kidneys okay? Are you a heavy drinker?

I suffered from insomnia for almost 20 years. I have managed to finally get rid of it with lifestyle changes and exercise (no need to overdo it, I walk and swim a bit). Watch what you are eating too. If you suffer from anxiety, you need to work on that big time. It was my number 1 cause of insomnia. And healthy doses of THC and CBD (if you don't mind being a bit goefed before bed time... if you do, just CBD).

I have been sleeping relatively well for 2 years now and I realise now what a negative impact lack of sleep had on me.

EDIT: Sleeping tablets did nothing other than provide some sleep but I also go full zombie on that schit and I just don't trust the stuff...

^This, smack a big old bong before bedtime and sleep like a baby.
Sleeping tablets are the devil, those things keep you half asleep for most of the next morning.

Are you staring at your phone till the last minute?
Any exercise during the day?
Coffee late in the day?

had the same, i now take arem ( need a prescription) , wake up feeling fresh now :)
