Installation Costs

Hi All
Just a quick question regarding Fiber installation costs.
Our area is now getting fiber and I've been looking at different ISP's. A lot of them offer free installation and setup etc...

Is it with all ISP's that you have to pay them back for this if you decide to cancel? One ISP I approached said this was the case..

No such thing as a free lunch
on Vumatel the installation is about R1725 + bot R1000 connection fee and yes if the ISP pays they will lock you in a contract with the penalty of having to pay this if you leave early - you have to check the T&C's of each to see how long (some are 12 months others are 24 months - sometimes they hca specials for a shorter term)

What is a recommended service provider to go with? Infrastructure is Octotel.
Main usage will be NetFlix, YouTube and a torrent or 2.

personally i'm with Rocket Net - quite happy no issues
other option that gets good reviews here on MYBB is cool ideas

I'm with them and they've been really good for the most part.

I use transmission openvpn and haven't had any issues with torrents.

I use Vanilla ISP and my torrents run with no tinkering. I've got a 100mbps line and on a well seeded torrent hit 9MB/s quite easily.
