Hi guys

I've installed Ubuntu on a hard drive however the pc does not go further than the loading screen. Any suggestions on how I can fix this?

Could be the HD is faulty?
Also when you installed did you customize anything?

no, i installed the HD in a different machine and it worked fine, however when I put it in another machine, it doesn't boot further, I ran the HD test and it came up with no errors.

Does the PC let you switch out of the graphic screen? Should be a ubuntu safe mode you can choose to boot. maybe see more info what's going on. i.e. kernel panic or something to that effect.

Don't know if its related, but I've known the computer to crash on loading. I got around it by disabling ACPI when booting.

Press Alt+F1 when the loading screen appears [it'll drop you to a console where you can see what's going on] and post any error messages. Then we can probably get an idea of what the problem is.
