Installing more then one cd-r drive

Is it possible to install more then one cd-r dive and burn more then one copy simultaneous?

yes, you mean burn more than one copy of the same item simultaneously? Yes. Most burners can do that.... but it is strongly recommended that the burners be of the same type.

I'm not sure if it requires more RAM or Processing power. I've never done it myself.

It doesn't require lots of RAM, if you have 1GB of RAM and you don't multitask while burning three disks, you will be fine.

You can also buy standalone units but I agree it is better to build one yourself.

my info may be old/out of date, but the last time i came up with a solution like this, nero didnt support multiple target drives. perhaps that has now changed.

i implemented a 1-to-5 copier using padus discjuggler

Just remember that burning to CD-R is single threaded. So each disc being burnt will need its own process running.

Also remember to put each disc on a separate IDE cable - unless you have SATA. You will bring your performance down if you share a cable.
