Thanks for the welcome, Raithlin... We have noticed that MXit's pops up on your forum quite often and would like to lend a hand if anyone has problems or suggestions with the program. See you around...
yeah welcome MXit_Team
Do you think there is a possibility to use the native IM clients on some of the newer cellphones with your service in the future?
BTW. I installed your java client and everything seems to work fine. The missed call when you get a message while offline is also a unique feature.
Hi sparklehorse, yes we are toying with the idea of connecting to the native IM's... but the list of ideas we are toying with is extremely long ...so not in the immediate future. The missed call notification will change to SMS in the very near future... we think that it would be a much more user friendly, not to mention elegant, solution.
Ok. Got it all working with my friends too. One guy has Samsung E800 and the other P910i. I have nokia 6220. All works great, but the most important part does not. If we send message to the offline person, he does not get the missed call. What could be wrong? We have the settings of the software itself right. We got the offline messages tick on. It is like that by default after install anyway.
Hi Johan, yep, at 10 pm the chances of getting a missed call notification is about as good as finding a super chilled penguin drinking Pina Colada's in the Sahara... At that time the call Q is normally around 2500 and the modems look like they're melting. That is why we are changing it to an SMS system... There are obviously cost implications with SMS and we have to offset that to advertising. (like a please call me) We are in the final stages of that project. We are MXing around 1,8 million messages a day... so you can imagine what kind of volumes we are talking about...
Should work fine derekc, maybe visit us at http://forum.mxit.co.za for detailed support. We don't want to start using this forum to do personal support. Cool?
I have downloaded MXIT onto my Nokia 6230i, and it tells me that the connection failed every time I try to register. I'm with MTN. Could someone please help?
There is something on the mxit forums about this issue. If I remember correctly, the gprs/wap profiles as set up by the SP is not correct. You have to set up a general custom profile or something.
Thanx sparklehorse for that bit of info. I suppose I should have gone and look there in the first place. MXIT is working great on my phone. Hat to set up an access point for it.
Hi Mams, check out this http://forum.mxit.co.za/viewforum.php?f=9 on our forum. We don't officially support any iMates, yet. Some people have , however got MXit working, using other versions.
hey
why does my Nokia 6170 say reconnecting and then it comes up with "you could not be logged onto the mxit service.Check that your GPRS is enabled " because my gprs works fine on everything else . its just mxit it says that
