Does anyone have experience with these things? My colleague raves about his. They're extremely versatile. I see Yuppiechef has them for R1999 - are they cheaper anywhere else in SA? I'm doubtful.

You can do pressure cooking, slow cooking, steamed rice, boiled eggs, lentils, steel cut oats, homemade yogurt... it sounds like a dream machine.

I've got a normal electric pressure cooker which i love, but i really want one of these. Apparently they were sold out everywhere during the festive season

That my friend is a standard elec pressure cooker with clever marketing - they all come with extra functions.

That said pressure cookers are awesome - especially for stews and soups. So yeah definitely get one.

It's just a brand name electric Pressure Cooker.

Really not that amazing.

That being said it makes great rice and does the job well as a pressure cooker.

Slow Cooking I still prefer to do in the real slow cooker.

Haven't tried the desserts and yoghurt and all that yet.

Did you get one in the end? I see Yuppiechef don't have stock at the moment... Feedback, if you did get one, please!

Instant pot is also available at @home.

@cerebus, what steamer do you use?

@SauRoNZA, why do you still prefer the real slow cooker?

Certain things just still come out better.

Especially chilli con carne or curries I still rather make in the slow cooker if I have the time to plan for it.

To be honest the pressure cooker makes more rice than anything else really.

I consider them two totally different appliances with different functions.
