Hi Guys

I just want to find out, do you guys have your PC's insured specifically.

The question just popped into my head because I can hear a co-worker insuring her laptop over the phone.

I've never had anything insured, but now I have built a new computer.

Thanks for any replies.

My Desktop PC is insured with my house hold insurance. If I had a laptop I would insure it separately because you take it out the house everyday.
Prob not necessary to insure desktop PC separately unless you frequently take it out your house - to a LAN etc.

High risk items, i.e. insured items that leave the house; need to be insured separately. If you laptop never leaves the house, then there is no need to insure it separately. A PC would also be insured under household contents. I insure my laptop separately because I travel with it.

All that you should do is inform your insurance company that you have a PC of Rx value. If it is then stolen it can be replaced.

I have stipulated the value of things like TV's, PC's etc. included in the total household content and it has not affected my premium.
