Insurgency South African Server

havent gotten it yet, to much of a CS clone i thought .... are there still SA players on it?

These MWEB servers are here to stay, they are for the community as Insurgency is growing and becoming quite popular.

Like Shirou said Mweb's aren't the first. Myself and him were the first to host servers for Insurgency in SA. While I'm happy that Mweb finally came to the party, its just a case of too little too late.

Long time CS player reporting in.

It's nothing like CS (but can be just as fast). It plays more like the old America's Army 2.6 or Red Orchestra in a modern setting with much smaller maps. Obviously because of the Source engine people tend to draw conclusions just from the visuals. It's not ArmA level but it's no CS either.

I got it for 10 dollars a month ago and clocked in 30 hours so far. As you expect from this type of game, it's very niche and I'm not surprised at all that this game is dead locally. Plays fine with 200ms though but don't expect to drop someone face to face around a corner every time.
 
I bought CS:GO and Insurgency in the latest steam sale. They are quite different from one another.

Wish there were local servers for Insurgency :( <200ms is quite playable tho.

CS:GO there are loads of local servers.
Most of us stick to local servers but international servers can also be fine.
Go to browse local servers and rank them by ping.
You'll get all the SA servers listed.
Add them as favorites and you're good to go.
Intoxicated servers are great.

I have bought the game long ago, but never really gotten into it. I play lot of AA:PG, but Insurgency is not a bad game at all.
 
Amazing game, but the local servers are always empty. Only co-ops with 4 or so players. The rest are all playing international servers as it's not busy enough. I play on the US servers.
 
How does the hi ping effect the game. I know the gameplay is very slow, so I assume that it cannot be to much of a problem.

It really doesn't since it's a very strategical shooter. Anything sub 200 is fine. This is no CS:GO or COD. You need to play strategically and have support fire and the likes.
 
Server is active at night, we were 12 players last night...come join!

Check in game for the local server if you don't find it through you steam browser..
 
Right, let's see if there is any action on the SA servers

Edit: All SA servers are empty... Will check again later.

I've added you on Steam. I'm keen to play. I've had the game for a while, but haven't played much yet. I tried last night, at around midnight, but there weren't too many South Africans online.

Hey guys. I got a 4 pack today. So ill be bringing 4 new SA players to insergency. So hopefully we'll be on tonight otherwise tomorrow. LET THE GAMES BEGIN BOYS! XD
