Insurgency South African Server

Anyone here who loves / loved the SOCOM games?

Stumbled across it yesterday afternoon. No local servers, seeing that the mod is hosted server side and the developer of the mod hasn't made it available to the public yet (unless someone here knows how to host a mod server for Insurgency, I'd be happy to put one up). Playing on US-East servers I get a ping of 260-280 and it's quite a lot of fun.

Anyhow, if the latency puts you off, rather wait for the files to be available to host a server locally, but I found it playable with the latency above :)

Been playing Isurgency since Dec, bought on Steam Sale, good game, have even been able to play International servers.
 
Have it in my steam library. Purchased it a year ago, and played 5 minutes. Deleted the files afterwards. Maybe it's time to give it a try again.
 
I can't find the SA servers. Keep having to play European servers with an awesome ,normal human reaction time, ping of 250ms. Had some fun though, team kept using me as a decoy to get the fscking snipers - let me run then they shoot the fscker.

you need to go to the server browser on the top right of the main screen.
then ad a filter for africa servers, there is about 8 I think.
3 usually have players in.
 
Is this game even played online in SA right now? Looking to get it but it doesn't seem to have a big following in SA.

Nope. I got Day of Infamy as well(same guys that made insurgency). I always only find international servers. For some reason the game is not that bad with 150ping. Still fun
 
Is anyone aware that the Insurgency servers in South Africa are completely dead for the past 3 - 4 weeks because they crash the client every time you spawn in? And if so, who is hosting these NWI servers in order to inform them? I think 3 or 4 others have reported the same so I don't think it is just me, and it would explain why there is 0 players in every one of them whilst it was still active last month - particularly towards the launch of Sandstorm and the recent free weekend sale.

Sorry for thread res, just assumed it would be sorted by now by admins and the like :) Or am I missing something? I can spawn in international servers just fine, but it seems all the local ones are an issue.

Was getting some practice in before Sandstorm release and all that. :p
