Secondly, since the results are taken from a single sample, any issues with this specific unit will affect the results substantially.

Actually the results generally aren't doctored, but the test platform is suspect. These results could have come from an engineering sample platform (similar to this Xe testbed with a waterblock) instead of an actual notebook, in which case the results aren't going to be comparable to, say, the next-gen Acer Aspire 5 which has lower thermal capacity.

Rocket Lake samples being lackluster is surprising, but it is a 10nm architecture on a 14nm process. No prizes for guessing that it's going to be one hot little potato.
