Intel & AMD

I've always been an Intel fan, but recently upgraded from Intel to AMD. After a few weeks of research on the web and reading reviews, asking friends etc, etc, I've opted to go for the AMD 3800+ Dual Core (cheaper for more power). Do you guys think this was wise? Wanted to go for an Intel Dual Core, but it under performs the AMD by far in reviews and testing.

This is all confusing!

I'm using an Intel Core Duo setup right now and I can tell you it rawks. It's only running at 2.18Ghz but it gets better Spi scores than the Athlon64 4800+ @ 3GHz I use on the other rig. While the A64 is watercooled, but the Core Duo T2500 is air cooled and quiet\cool as hell :)

Trust me if you wanna get a CPU, better wait it out. NOt that etting an AMD is useless now, its just that you'll still have to wait for AM2 boards.
But I would never buy the intel P4, its crap, has always been and will forever be (except for 2.4C/2.4B). The dothan+ cores on the other hand are golden!
:)

you know what i think and the reason im an amd fan boi

amd have brought out cpu's that rival intel at a much lower cost (not the case anymore)

intel knew that majority of their sales where from ppl who knew pentium whateva and would buy it just because it was intel (kinda like mecer we know its crap but most ppl dont)

so basically my point is intel charged alot and knew they could get away with it.
amd where cheap because they knew intel was the most bought cpu by a mile.

then came the gamers telling all their buddies staff members (basically word of mouth hit intel's pockets) about amd and so the intel empire began to fall.

intel then thought ok lets start charging less and giving more like amd.

buy amd!!!!

Sadly, I was one of those people, but I've convinced myself:D I am happy with my CPU and I haven't had any problems as of yet. Don't think I should:rolleyes:
