we want details about i9 !
IIRC the hexacores will still be i7...dunno when they plan on releasing i9. Maybe i9 will have quad channel DDR3![]()
I was holding out for the hexacores, but rumour has it that the prices will be quite high, around R10,000 a pop. ouch!! oh well, can only upgrade my system end of year anyway, so lets see what happens...
Currently my QX6850 is doing fine...I doubt it would cause any performance problems on my system. I'm saving for a DX11 gfx card then my system should be sorted for a year or 2. (would maybe upgrade to 8GB memory though). But I guess if you do Ăśber CPU intensive stuff, a fancy hexacore with HT would do you good(or rather update the software to use CUDA
)
you know, Im doing the exact same thing. I was gonna upgrade my whole PC a while back and decided to rather use the money for an SSD and then save the rest (+some more) for another GFX card. I guess as long as your CPU and RAM can handle the pressure. Im runing DDR800 dominator and Intel Q9550, which should be ok for a while still?? I HOPE!
I also really badly want a SSD, but I have to save money atm so only going to buy a gfx card
I doubt our quad cores would become bottlenecks any time soon though.
These processors have been available for more than a month?
Yeah, but intel officially announced them here at African Time.![]()
Hopefully, it wont be the African version regarding working speed![]()
